W. C. Fields
W. C. FIELDS. Vintage 8x10 matte finish black and white half-length portrait, inscribed in black fountain pen along the length of his walking stick, "To Ray Sperry Best wishes," and signed on his pocket handkerchief. Ray Sperry, to whom the photograph is inscribed, was the stand-in for Freddie Bartholomew, and would have worked with Fields during the filming of David Copperfield (1935). Fine condition, with mounting remnants on the reverse side; mild creasing to the top right corner; and Fields's surname partially penned against the dark fabric of his jacket, that portion being somewhat difficult to see.
