Ruth Taylor
RUTH TAYLOR. Original vintage 8x10 glossy black and white two-thirds length still portrait from The College Coquette (1929), the actress's limp, penultimate feature film, signed and inscribed in later years in blue ballpoint ink, "To Tom Parry!/Best wishes to you/Ruth Taylor." Fine condition, with scattered very mild handling and thumbing bents that do not substantially detract from the overall appearance of the image. Ruth Taylor entered films in 1925 as a member of Mack Sennett's comedy troupe and appeared in several dozen shorts before landing the role of her lifetime, Lorelei Lee in the 1928 silent version of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She retired shortly after the advent of sound and was later the proud mother of Buck Henry. Signed photographs are quite uncommon.
