ALAN SHEPARD. Vintage 10x8 semi-glossy official NASA portrait, boldly signed in black felt tip ink. Alan Shepard was the first American to travel into space and, as commander of the Apollo 14 mission, the fifth and oldest person to walk on the moon. Fine condition, with a faint bckground ding, invisible when the photograph is viewed head on. A sticker from third-party authenticator PSA/DNA has been affixed in the bottom left corner, and below the signature is a postal cancellation stamp originating from Houston and dated Feb. 9, 1971, which was the final day of the Apollo 14 mission. A 6-cent stamp has also been affixed on his uniform.
