VEREE TEASDALE. Vintage 8×10 matte finish silver tone chest-up publicity portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, “To Olin Horen/Cordially -/Veree Teasdale/8/1/40.” Near fine condition, with mounting remnants in each corner on the reverse side of the photograph, resulting in slight warping and discoloration, slightly detracting from the overall appearance of the image but easily matted out. The sophisticated character actress appeared in a few dozen films during the 1930s and early ’40s, usually cast as “the other woman” or a sharp-tongued society matron. She can be appreciated at her peak trading barbs with real-life husband Adolphe Menjou in The Milky Way (1936), far and away Harold Lloyd’s finest sound film.
