STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN. Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white chest-up publicity portrait from Epic Records, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt tip ink, “To J.J./Stevie Ray/Vaughan.” About fine condition, with a uniform block of toning in the borders, the result of prior framing; and small areas of emulsification on his lips, chin and the top of his neck, detracting only minimally from overall appearance. The sensational electric guitarist, singer, and songwriter was one of the most important blues performers of the 1980s, enjoying a brief seven-year professional career before dying in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35. Signed photographs are scarce. The photograph is accompanied by a backstage pass to one of his concerts.
