RUTH CHATTERTON. Vintage 4×6 matte finish black and white chest-up half-tone publicity portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen. Fine condition, with a small bend to the bottom right corner tip. Ruth Chatterton, who made her screen debut at age 36 in 1928, always seemed a bit too matronly to play the irresistible mantraps that she seemed to favor in her decade-long career, but she garnered two Oscar nominations along the way and was at her best playing against type in Dodsworth (1936) as the vain, self-deluding wife of Walter Huston, a very effective performance.
