ROBERT AGNEW

Black and white 7.5 x 10.7 book-weight chest-up portrait, with printed biography below, removed from the 1924 edition of “Stars of the Photoplay,” signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To/John/Robert Agnew/7-3-61.” Fine condition, with a few very mild handling bends in the borders and light ink brushing affecting the FINAL letter of his signature. The once popular, now forgotten, juvenile lead of the silent screen worked steadily throughout the 1920s. His career declined rapidly with the advent of sound, and after a final unbilled appearance in 1934 he began a second career as a special effects specialist at Warner Bros. John Verzi collection.  Scarce.
