REX BELL. Sepia tone 7×10 head and shoulders book-weight portrait, with printed biography below, removed from the 1930 edition of “Stars of the Photoplay, ” boldly signed and inscribed in the early 1960s in blue fountain pen, “To John -/Best wishes/always/Rex Bell.” A slightly trimmed right border; otherwise very fine condition. Rex Bell, the husband of Clara Bow, enjoyed a one-decade career as a Western star during the 1930s, subsequently turning to politics and serving as Lieutenant Governor of Nevada. Signed photographs are rather uncommon, this being the first signed image I have ever offered.
