REED HADLEY. Vintage signature in black fountain pen on a 5×3 white album page. Very good condition, with mild creasing and surface impressions; paper thinning on the reverse side at the bottom edge; and a small magazine photograph affixed at the top left corner. This signature was part of the John Verzi collection, but is one of the autographs that he obtained from another collector. Frequently cast in unbilled or small supporting roles in films, Reed Hadley fared somewhat better on television as the star of the long-running early series “Racket Squad” and “Public Defender.” His deep, resonant bass voice also won him much work as a narrator for movies and documentaries. He was also cast as the first screen Zorro, in a 1939 Republic serial.
