Vintage 10×8 glossy black and white still from the 1935 MGM film, boldly signed in black fountain pen, “Sincerely/Wally/Beery, “ and additionally signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Harold/Best of luck/Jackie Cooper.” Fine condition, with very slightly trimmed borders; scattered very mild bends; and portions of Cooper’s signature penned against darker areas of the image. O’Shaughnessy’s Boy was the last of four popular films that paired Beery with child actor Cooper, who noted in his autobiography that Beery never deigned to speak to him offscreen. Jointly signed photographs of the pair are exceptionally uncommon.
