Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 glossy black and white chest-up portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To George K. Iggleson/from/Neil Hamilton.”  Very fine condition.  A notation on the reverse side indicates that this photograph was signed in January 1935.  Hamilton’s career was a testament to perseverance: More than forty years after gaining stature as one of the most popular leading men of the silent screen, he achieved newfound popularity in the role of Commissioner Gordon on television’s “Batman” series in the 1960s. In the interim, he appeared in dozens of films and television series, sometimes in leading roles, more frequently in smaller assignments.
