Vintage 1930s 5×7 matte finish black and white chest-up studio portrait, signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Eric Morehouse/Kindest regards/ Nat Pendleton.”  About fine condition, with minute trimming to the borders; mounting remnants on the reverse side; and the writing, as was invariably the case, largely penned against the dark fabric of his jacket, best viewed by angling the photograph slightly into the light.  A genial lug, character actor Nat Pendleton appeared in over 100 films throughout the 1930s and ’40s, frequently cast as a dim-witted mobster or clueless police officer.
