Vintage 1920s 7.4 x 9.4 matte finish silver tone bust studio portrait, signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Gino Corrado/with every good wish/from his friend/Montagu Love.”  Fine condition, with very mild silvering around the edges; and the writing uniformly penned against the dark fabric of his jacket, but generally readable.  Borders may have been trimmed.  Considered one of the leading villains of the silent screen, British-born character actor Montagu Love, a sturdy theatrical veteran, made a smooth transition to sound, appearing in 178 films before his death in 1943. Gino Corrado was a Hollywood supporting player who appeared in over 400 films, usually uncredited, over the course of a four-decade career.
