MILDRED DUNNOCK. Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white chest-up studio portrait, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint ink, “For R. E. Ward/with gratitude/for his interest/Mildred Dunnock.” Fine condition, with a small, faint stain in the bottom border and in the background above her head; and very mild thumbing bends and tiny surface impressions in the same area, not substsantially detracting from overall appearance. The versatile character actress had a lengthy stage, television, and screen career, winning Oscar nominations for her performances in Death of a Salesman (1951) and Baby Doll (1966). Signed photographs are rather scarce. A notation on the reverse side indicates that this photograph was signed in September 1969.
