Vintage 8×10 double-weight semi-glossy light sepia tone publicity portrait by Mitchell of N.Y., boldly signed and inscribed in green fountain pen, “To Artie Cohn -/My Sinbcere Good Wishes/Mildred Bailey.”  Near very fine condition, with a small, light stain in the background to the left of her head.  Jazz great Mildred Bailey left a rich recorded legacy, including performances with Paul Whiteman, the Dorsey brothers, Benny Goodman and Red Norvo (her third husband). Poor health forced an early retirement at the conclusion of World War II and she died at age 44 from complications of diabetes.  Signed photographs are quite uncommon.
