Youthful, borderless 1930s Vintage 6×8 matte finish sepia tone chest-up portrait, signed in black fountain pen, “Sincerely/Melville Cooper.” Very fine condition, with the word “Sincerely” a bit light. The distinctive British character actor appeared in such film classics as The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938, as the Sheriff of Nottingham), Pride and Prejudice (1940), and The Lady Eve (1941). On Broadway he created the role of Col. Pickering in the original production of My Fair Lady. Signed photos are extremely uncommon.
