Vintage 7.5 x 10 glossy black and white chest-up portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt tip ink, “To Amos + ‘Pat/Really a pleasre working/for you – Wishing you both much/success – Keep/Jazz going -/Love/Mary Lou Williams/1975.”  Fine condition, with the left border trimmed.  Williams was a noted jazz pianist and composer, who wrote and arranged for Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, and was a friend and mentor to such jazz greats as Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Tadd Dameron, Bud Powell, and Dizzy Gillespie.
