Dreamy 1930s 8×10 glossy black and white half-length Paramount Pictures studio portrait, signed and inscribed in later years in blue ballpoint ink, “To William/All Good Wishes of/Mary Carlisle.”  Very fine condition.  Mary Carlisle appeared in over 60 films primarily during the 1930’s, normally typecast as a sweet, well-mannered co-ed. Unable to break out of the casting straitjacket, she retired in 19443 and moved on to marriage and a business career.
