Bold signature and inscription, “To Jon -/All the best/always/Martha Vickers,” in black felt tip ink on a 6×4 pink index card.  Very fine condition.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in April 1970.  John Verzi collection.  Something of a cult favorite, 1940s starlet Martha Vickers is best remembered for her “bad girl” roles at Warner Bros., most memorably the thumb-sucking nymphet, Carmen Sternwood, in The Big Sleep (1946). Vickers’s career quickly declined after 1950, and when she gave her final performances, on the television series, “The Rebel,” in 1960, she was only 35 years old.
