LYNN BARI. Vintage 1930s 7.4 x 9.3 glossy black and white 20th Century-Fox studio portrait by Gene Kornman, signed and inscribed in purple fountain pen, “To Kay -/Lynn Bari.” Fine condition, with trimmed borders. Much of the writing is penned against a shadowy area of the image but is more easily readable on the actual photograph than it appears in the accompanying scan. Lynn Bari entered Hollywood in 1933, appearing in scores of films over the next five years in bit or walk-on roles. In 1938 she was elevated to supporting roles and by the 1940s was a leading lady, almost exclusively in “B” films, usually cast in shady, unsympathetic roles.
