Glossy 4×6 black and white half-length portrait, boldly signed in blue felt tip ink, “Much luck/to you!/Luise Ullrich/1965.”  Very fine condition.  John Verzi collection.  The highly regarded Austrian actress had a five-decade film and television career.  At her height in the 1930s, her reputation was so strong that she was offered a Hollywood contract by Louis B. Mayer, which she declined, preferring to remain in Europe.  In her later years, she gained renewed attention as the star of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s acclaimed 1973 television mini-series, “Eight Hours Don’t Make a Day.”
