Bold signature and inscription, “Pour Jean/en toute symaathie.Lucien Rainbourg,” in black fountain pen on a 6×4 green index card.  Very fine condition, with a small photograph affixed at the bottom left corner.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in September 1968.  The veteran Frenchscreen and television actor appeared in scores of films and television series over the course of a four-decade career, his name generally listed far down on the credits. Undoubtedly his most significant appearance was on the stage, making theatrical history when he created the role of Vladimir in the world premier of Waiting for Godot in Paris in January 1953.
