LOUISE DRESSER. Sepia tone 7.2 x 10 head and shoulders book-weight portrait, with printed biography below, removed from the 1930 edition of “Stars of the Photoplay, ” boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, “To John/Sincerely/Louise Dresser/November 13/1966/Glendale Calif.” Fine condition, with scattered handling bends in the borders, with a bend in the top border very slightly impacting the background of the image. Louise Dresser entered films in 1923, following lengthy vaudeville and Broadway experience. Before retiring in 1937, she appeared in fifty films, most frequently in character roles, but also winning an Oscar nomination as leading actress for A Ship Comes In (1928).
