Vintage 5×7 glossy sepia tone chest-up studio portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Miss C. Becker/most sincerely/Lou Tellegen.”  Very fine condition.  Lou Tellegen entered films following a stint as Sarah Bernhardt’s leading man onstage and enjoyed a steady career as a matinee idol throughout the silent era.  His career faded following the advent of sound, and he committed suicide in 1934 at the age of 52. A notation on the reverse side indicates that this photograph was signed in 1932.
