Bold vintage signature and inscription, “To Tommy/Leo McCarey,” in turquoise fountain pen on a 3×5 off-white index card.  Very fine condition.  Director Leo McCarey won Oscars for The Awful Truth (1937) and Going My Way (1944, awards for directing and writing). His other films include Duck Soup (1933), The Bells of St. Mary’s (1945) and An Affair to Remember (1957). A director of scores of silent short comedies, he was also responsible for the original pairing of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
