LEE TRACY. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 glossy black and white chest-up portrait of the fast-talking, high-voltage leading man, boldly signed in blue fountain pen. Fine condition, with a minuscule bend in the bottom border and scattered vey faint surface impressions, invisible when the photograph is viewed head on. The postcard is date stamped 1938 on the reverse side. In 1934, in a particularly bad career move, a drunken Tracy stepped onto his hotel balcony and urinated on the heads of passing Mexican federales during the filming of Viva Villa. He was quickly fired from the film and his days as a Hollywood A-lister were essentially at an end.
