Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white chest-up lobby still portrait from The Black Bird (1975), her final screen appearance, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt tip ink, “To Bill Blalock/all the best/Lee Patrick.” Fine condition, with scattered mild thumbing bends and surface impressions, all virtually invisible when the photograph is viewed head on and not noticeably detracting from overall appearance. Stage, screen, and television actress Lee Patrick enjoyed a 50-year career. Her Hollywood peak was in the 1940s, playing hard-bitten dames and floozies in numerous films. Contemporary audiences perhaps remember her best as Humphrey Bogart’s sly, acerbic secretary in The Maltese Falcon (1941). Signed photographs are quite uncommon.
