Vintage 1930s 3.5 x 5.5 glossy black and white half-length portrait from the British “Picturegoer” series, boldly signed in green fountain pen ink.  Very fine condition.  The peppy blonde ingenue made her stage debut at age seven and played leads and supporting roles in dozens of Hollywood films before moving to England in the mid-Thirties to continue her career. After 1941 her appearances became more sporadic and she retired for good in 1957, with a 40-year show business career behind her.
