Original vintage 5×7 matte finish sepia tone studio portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen. Very fine condition, with a pre-printed signature as Helen Johnson, her birth name and the name under which she was originally billed. A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in October 1972. John Verzi collection. Judith Wood had a brief career at Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, which, with the exception of three uncredited bit roles in later years, petered out by 1937. According to one rumor, the studio eventually soured on her due to her propensity for brief affairs with her successive co-stars.
