Bold vintage signature and inscription, “To John/with good wishes/Joyce Grenfell,” in blue fountain pen on a 6×4 white index card. Very fine condition, with a small magazine photograph affixed at the top right corner. A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in April 1965. John Verzi collection. Joyce Grenfell gained popularity in England in the late 1930s as a multi-talented singer, impressionist, and witty monologist. She began appearing fairly regularly in films after 1950, playing substantial comic supporting roles, perhaps most notably in The Belles of St. Trinian’s (1954) and two sequels.
