Bold signature and inscription, “Pour Jean/Bien amicalement/Jean Poitet,” in green fountain pen on a 6×4 white index card.  Very fine condition, with a small magazine photograph affixed at the top right corner.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in June 1965.  John Verzi collection.  The French character actor appeared in scores of big-screen and television films, and had a second career as a playwright and screenwriter.  He is best remembered as the author of the play La Cage aux Folles, originating the role of Renato Baldi in the first stage production.  He later adapted the play for the 1980 film version, winning an Oscar nomination for the script.
