JAMES STEPHENSON. Vintage 5×7 matte finish light sepia tone chest-up studio portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in green fountain pen, “For Eric Moorhouse/Sincere good wishes/James Stephenson.” Fine condition, with mounting remnants on the reverse side. The suave British actor made his film debut in 1937 and completed nearly 40 films before his untimely death four years later at the age of 49. He received an Oscar nomination for his performance as Bette Davis’s barrister in The Letter (1940). Signed photographs are rather uncommon.
