Vintage 5×7 matte finish black and white half-length portrait, signed in black fountain pen, “Sincerely/Irene Ryan.”  Near very fine condition, with the ink just a shade light and the final letter of her signature penned against a darker area of the image.  Irene Ryan already had a lengthy, if modest, career in vaudeville, film and radio before becoming a sensation as “Granny” on “The Beverly Hillbillies” at age 60 in 1962.  Signed photographs from the earlier, less heralded, days of her career are quite uncommon.
