HENRY MOORE. TLS, 1 p., 8vo, 18th August 1982, on the letterhead of The Henry Moore Foundation. The eminent British artist and sculptor comments on his early schooling. In part: “Of course I remember the drawing classes which Leon Underwood gave in his studio, and that I enjoyed them, and benefitted from them. He was the one teacher who taught me anything useful and intelligent about drawing. However it is so long ago I don’t think I can say anything definite about the other students there… I would very likely get things wrong after such a long passage of time, and so I sorry [sic] I can’t help you.” Fine condition, with a single mailing fold and a bit of very light wrinkling.
