Dramatic vintage 7×9 glossy black and white chest-up studio portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Edward S. Barry/Yours sincerely/Geraldine Fitzgerald.”  Fine condition, with neatly trimmed borders.  During a career that spanned close to six decades, Geraldine Fitzgerald was frequently cast in large supporting roles, in films such as Wuthering Heights (1939), for which she received an Oscar nomination, and Dark Victory (1939), but occasionally played leads in such worthy films as Shining Victory (1941) and Three Strangers (1946).
