Original vintage 8×10 glossy sepia tone chest-up 1934 MGM studio portrait, boldly signed in later years in black marker.  Near very fine condition, with a small thumbing bend in the  background.  The pleasant, if bland, leading man appeared in dozens of films throughout the 1930s and early 1940s, and from 1950 on concentrated more exclusively on television until his retirement in 1976.  His marriage to Jeanette MacDonald was one of Hollywood’s happiest and most enduring partnerships.
