Bold signature in blue felt tip ink on a 6×4 green index card.  Very fine condition.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in May 1979.  John Verzi collection. England’s answer to Fred Clark enjoyed a five-decade screen and television career, starting out as a leading man in the 1920s before switching over to character roles after the advent of sound.  Appearing in over 100 films, he was frequently typecast as self-important officious types, and often played second fiddle to George Formby.
