FRANKLIN PANGBORN. Vintage 8×10 matte finish black and white chest-up publicity portrait, circa 1940, signed in black fountain pen, “Best wishes/Franklin Pangborn.” Fine condition, with mild creasing to three corner tips and four small areas of surface paper loss in the borders, not affecting the image. A romantic lead on the stage in his eaarly years, Franklin Pangborn was almost immediately pegged for comedy when he entered films in 1926. Over the course of three decades, Pangborn appeared in over 200 films, frequently cast as a prissy, easily flustered store clerk or hotel manager.
