Vintage 5×7 matte finish black and white chest-up fan photo, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To June/My ‘Babe’/From/Frankie Darro.”  Near fine condition, with pin holes at all four corners and at the top center; small bends to the bottom corner tips; and small handling bends in the background, the aforementioned condition issues detracting slightly from overall appearance.  The diminutive actor appeared as a child during the silent era, then played scrappy, often troubled youths in such film as The Mayor of Hell (1933) and Wild Boys of the Road (1933). By the mid-1930s his roles became smaller and he spent much of the rest of his career in unbilled or bit parts, including Robby the Robot in Forbidden Planet (1956), although the robot’s voice belonged to another actor.  Scarce.
