FRANCES FARMER. Scarce signature in purple ink on a 5×3 white index card. Fine condition, with two small magazine photographes affixed in the top left and bottom right corners, and a bit of very light toning to the right of the picture at the top left, easily matted out. Frances Farmer’s promising career was cut short by chronic alcoholism and severe mental instability. She spent many years institutionalized in a succession of mental hospitals before being released in 1950. Thereafter, she worked occasionally on television and hosted several radio shows until 1964, when alcoholism effectively terminated her career. This signature is characteristic of her later years.
