Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white chest-up lobby still portrait from State Fair (1945), boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, “To Rudy/Fay Bainter.”  Fine condition, with scattered overall very mild handling bends and faint scuffs in the background to the glossy finish.  These faults are largely invisible when the photograph is viewed head on and do not substantially detract from overall appearance.  In 1938, Fay Bainter became the first actress to win Oscar nominations as both Best Actress (for White Banners) and Best Supporting Actress (for Jezebel), ultimately winning for the latter. Signed photographs are relatively uncommon.
