Bold signature in turquoise fountain pen, adding a quick sketch of a rose, on a 6×4 white index card.  Very fine condition.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in December 1964.  John Verzi collection.  The prolific, bestselling American novelist combined romantic melodrama with burning contemporary social issues, including feminism and civil rights.  Several of her novels became popular Hollywood films, including Back Street (1932), Imitation of Life (1934), and Humoresque (1946).
