ERIC LINDEN. Vintage 8×10 matte finish light sepia tone chest-up portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in green fountain pen, “For/Catherine/best, /Eric/Linden.” Fine condition, with mounting remnants on the reverse side and scattered small spots of emulsification on his left cheek, forehead and neck, slightly detracting from the overall appearance of the image. After early success on Broadway, Eric Linden played strong juvenile leading roles in Hollywood from 1931-1936, playing opposite Loretta Young, Joan Blondell, Helen Twelvetrees, Sidney Fox, James Cagney and Lionel Barrymore, among others. His film career petered out in 1941 and, after service in World War II, he returned to the stage for another decade before retiring from acting.
