Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white half-length casual publicity portrait, circa 1970, boldly signed and inscribed in black ballpoint ink, “To La Verne/from/Elvis Presley.”  Very good condition, with a noticeable vertical bend running the length of the photograph through his hair at the left side; additional scattered bends in the image and the borders; and extensive surface waviness visible on his vest, mostly above his signature.  There is very slight ink skipping on the final letter of the signature.  Although the above-mentioned condition issues are not very visible in the accompanying scan, they are clearly visible on the actual photograph and do detract somewhat from the overall appearance.  Signed photographs from this period immediately following Presley’s discharge from the U.S. Army are uncommon, scarcity somewhat offsetting the less than optimal condition.
