Bold signature and inscription, “To Gloria/Edw. Ellis,” in black fountain pen on a yellow album page, about 5.5 x 4.5.  Fine condition, with an uneven right edge where the age was cut from an autograph album; and annotations along the bottom edge by the original collector.  The crusty character actor came to Hollywood after decades of stage experience, and appeared in nearly forty films during the 1930s and early 1940s, usually in disagreeable roles. He is perhaps best remembered as Clyde Wynant, the title character of The Thin Man (1934).
