Vintage 11×14 matte finish black and white chest-up studio portrait by Ernest Bachrach, signed in black fountain pen and dated 1937 in her hand. The image itself is in fine condition, with a bit of very mild creasing along the right edge. However, the signature, penned against her fur, is difficult to make out unless held at the proper angle and in the proper light, and even then exhibiting only fair contrast. Now, there are plenty of light areas on this image where the old girl could have placed a perfectly readable autograph, but no-o-o-o-o-o-o, she had to find the darkest part of the photo and pen her John Hancock precisely there. Still, scarce and the image could hardly be better.
