Vintage 8×10 matte finish black and white full-length portrait by Apeda of vaudevillian Cantor in blackface, boldly signed and cryptically inscribed in black fountain pen, “To John Horgan/Sinton/Condies/100%/Eddie Cantor/ 3/19/’23.”  Very fine condition.  This image was used to publicize Cantor’s 1923 Broadway hit, “Midnight Rounders,” and remained one of his favorites because it always reminded him of how he looked in his prime.  Politically incorrect, but kind of definitive, and exceptionally scarce in this format.
