Vintage 1930s 9.6 x 7 glossy black and white still from an unknown film, boldly signed and inscribed in purple fountain pen, “To/Kay -/Sincerely/Dick Powell.” Fine condition, with neatly trimmed borders. Starting as a vocalist, Dick Powell became Warner Bros.’ crooner-in-chief throughout the 1930s, later transitioning to hard-boiled roles in films such as Murder, My Sweet (1944). He continued to appear in films up until his death in 1963, also pursuing successful secondary careers as a producer and director.
