Vintage 8×10 glossy black and white studio profile portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, “For Henry Sefelli/from David Manners.”  Fine condition, with light creasing to the top left and bottom right corner tips; and scattered rather mild handling bends within the image, all essentially invisible when the photograph is viewed head on.  Handsome and well-spoken, David Manners’s earnest but rather bland personality did not exactly set the screen on fire, although he had leading roles in nearly three dozen films during his rather brief career. He is best remembered as Jonathan Harker in the classic 1931 version of Dracula.  Although Manners generously responded to autograph requests through the mail in later years, vintage signed images from his active days in Hollywood are rather more uncommon.
