Bold signature in blue fountain pen on a 6×4 green index card.  Very fine condition.  A pencil notation on the reverse side indicates that this autograph was obtained in person in February 1970.  John Verzi collection.  The American general saw robust action in the Pacific theater during World War II, ultimately planning and directing a massive bombing campaign against Japanese cities in the final stages of the war.  Years later, he gained a degree of notoriety with his enthusiastic calls for repeating this campaign, first against Cuba and subsequently against Vietnam.  His final foray into public life was as Vice Presidential candidate in George Wallace’s third-party bid in the 1968 Presidential election.
